Description	:	Montezuma Republican (Montezuma, Iowa) 11 March 1938 Nellie Poole, the fifth child of Francis and Fidelia Poole, was born near Deep River in Poweshiek County, October 24, 1870, and died March 2, 1938. She was united in marriage to Charles E. Ferneau on March 28, 1889. To this union twelve children were born, of whom two sons and two daughters died in infancy. She was united in marriage to Charles E. Ferneau on March 28, 1889. To this union twelve children were born, of whom two sons and two daughters died in infancy. Mrs. Fred Duffus passed away in February 1930. Those living are Mrs Bert McKeag of Columbus Junction, Levi of Strutevant, Wis. Clifford and Herman of Oskaloosa, Delia Beck of Mount Pleasant, Harlan of Montezuma and Robert of New Sharon. There are also three sisters, Mrs Nettie Todd of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs Emma Rose and Mrs. John Smith of Montezuma, two brothers, Delbert Poole of Marshalltown and Frank of New Sharon. These with the husband, 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild are left to mourn her. Mrs. Ferneau has cared for a great nephew, Lloyd Poole, whose mother passed away when he was three months old, he is still in the home, also an invalid brother Frank whom she has helped to care for the past two years, during which time her own health has been very poor. Her life has truly been one of service to others. The funeral service was held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, March 5, 1938, at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Arthur M. Eastman. The body was laid to rest in the Montezuma cemetery.
