Description	:	Francis Hoffman, age 72, of Bismarck and formerly of Kenmare, died in a Bismarck hospital on Sunday, April 15th. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20th in St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. in Bismarck with Fr. Arnold Spain and Fr. Thomas Sullivan officiating. Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 8:30 p.m. in Nichisch-Ressler Funeral Chapel, Bismarck. Pallbearers will be John Hoffman, Jim Hoffman, Steve Jochim, Scott, Jochim, Jeff Hoffman, and Jason Hoffman. Interment will be in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Kenmare later in the spring. Mr. Hoffman was born on May 3, 1908 at Kenmare to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hoffman. He attended schools in Kenmare and owned and managed a coal mine for a number of years. He married Bernice Lundgren on Nov. 9, 1933 at Kenmare and following their marriage he worked for the Farmers Union Oil Co. In 1943 he moved to Wing, N.D. where he managed the Farmers Union Oil and moved to Bismarck in 1950 where he was also manager of Farmers union Oil until 1968. He then moved to Tolna as manager and in 1973 he retired and moved back to Bismarck. Survivors include his wife, Bernice; three sons, David of Laporte, Colo.; Daniel of Bismarck, and Dale of Laporte, Colo.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Martin (Jeanette) Gunsch of Bismarck, and Mrs. Cliff (Joan) Jochim of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; two brothers, James Hoffman of Salt Lake City, Utah and John Hoffman of Seattle, Wash.; six sisters, Mrs. Frank (Marie) Schumacher of Kenmare, Mrs. Francis (Rosella) Laney of Kenmare, Mrs. Tony (Doris) Schumacher of Minot, Mrs. Archie (Rosemary) Ousie of Seattle, Mrs. Norbert (Agnes) Gobel of Burlington, and Mrs. Frank (Ann) Batsford of New Aygo, Mich. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, George, and a sister, Loretta Folkert. The family resides at 910 North 15th St. in Bismarck.
