Description	:	Francis J. Perrier, of Eureka, died Sunday, July 29, 2001 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita at the age of 89. Mr. Perrier was born August 16, 1911, at Olpe, Kansas, the son of John Peter Perrier and Clara (Frazier) Perrier. He was graduated from St. Joseph High School, Olpe, and then attended and graduated from Kansas State University in 1935. Perrier, of Eureka, died Sunday, July 29, 2001 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita at the age of 89. Mr. Perrier was born August 16, 1911, at Olpe, Kansas, the son of John Peter Perrier and Clara (Frazier) Perrier. He was graduated from St. Joseph High School, Olpe, and then attended and graduated from Kansas State University in 1935. While attending Kansas State University he met his future wife, Alice Barrier and they were united in marriage in 1938. Following his graduation from Kansas State University, Mr. Perrier worked as a civil engineer until being called into the Army just before Pearl Harbor. During World War II he served his country in northern Africa and Sicily, achieving the rank of Captain. After his discharged from the service he returned home to manage the family Angus ranch, Dalebanks Angus Ranch, northwest of Eureka. He retired from active ranching in the mid 1980's. His first wife, Alice, preceded him in death in 1952. In 1962 he married Naemi Gorges and she preceded him in death in 1995. Also preceding him in death were 3 sisters, Loretta Boes, Ann Redeker Uhing and Mary Louise Boes. Mr. Perrier was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eureka and served on its parish council. He was active in many state and local organizations including the Kansas Angus Assn., the Kansas Livestock Assn., the Greenwood Co. Farm Bureau, the Greenwood Co. Cattlemen's, Assn., and the Greenwood Co. Fair Association of which he served as president of the Fair Board for more than 20 years. He was also instrumental in the formation of the Fall River Watershed District and served as its secretary for over 25 years. He is survived by three sons, Louis Perrier of Wichita, Charles Perrier of Parsons and Tom Perrier of Eureka; two brothers, Ernest Perrier of Emporia and John Perrier of Dodge City. Calling hours will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at the Campbell-Kelly Funeral Home in Eureka with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday August 1, 2001 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eureka, Fr. Leo Kerschen officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery at Eureka, Kansas. Memorials have been established in his name with the Greenwood County 4-H Foundation and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eureka.
