Webster Died July 16 In Cedar Rapids Death called Francis L. Webster,41, in a Cedar Rapids hospital last Thursday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock, after n long illness. He was proprietor of a lunch room at Third street and Fourteenth avenue, southeast. He was born In Scotch Grove township, Jones county, and resided in Anamosa for a number of years before going to Cedar Rapids in 1927. Mr. Webster .served as deputy sheriff under John Bodenhofer from 1915 to 1921. He later acted as assistant foreman in the automobile license plate department of the state Reformatory at Annmosa, and also served as a guard in the same Institution. Mr. Webster was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal church. Cedar Rapids and also held a membership in the Odd Fellow lodge and in the Modern Woodmen of America. Besides his widow he is survived by three children: Frederick, Edward and Mrs Ruth Wallne, all of Cedar Rapids. He also leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Webster, of Scotch Grove; two brothers W. D., of Cedar Rapids; James, of Scotch Grove, and seven sisters, Miss Olga Webster, Mrs. Chaunccy Mowery, Mrs. Tom Moore all of Scotch Grove; Mrs. Julius Banky Maquoketa; Mrs. Frank Wright, Mrs. Lee Ruthbun, Mrs. Lloyd Pic- kctt, all of Monticello, and two small grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Webster were held in Cedar Rapids at 1:30 p. m. last Sunday. They were in charge of Rev. A. A. Brooks.
