IGNAZ KOVAR She Had Resided in Butler County Forty-Seven Years. Mrs. Franciska Kovar, widow of Ignaz Kovar, passed away at her home two miles east of David City Sunday, May 16, at 11:20 p.m., following an illness of some months. She was critically ill for three weeks. Her death was from Bright's disease. Mrs. Kovar had lived in Butler county 47 years. She was born in Moravia, Europe, March 9, 1850. She was married to Ignaz Kovar in Moravia in 1870. Mr. and Mrs. Kovar came to this country in 1873. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kovar, one daughter, Christina, died several years ago. Mr. Kovar died April 20, 1914. Six daughters and two sons survive Mrs. Kovar. They are Mrs. J. D. Oehme of Brainard, Mrs. Hugo Hahn, Mrs. J. W. Schlentz, F. J. Kovar and J. F. Kovar of David City, Mrs. Frank Styskal of Exeter, Mrs. Anna Harlow of Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. Paul Lorenz of Spaulding. Mrs. Styskal and Mrs. Lorenz were in attendance at the funeral. Mrs. Harlow was unable to come. For a number of years Mr. and Mrs. Kovar resided near Appleton. After moving to near David City Mrs. Kovar became a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, David City. She was formerly a member of Appleton Catholic church. Funeral services were held in the Appleton church Tuesday morning, May 18, Rev. Father Zalud of Bruno conducting the services. The pall-bearers were Frank A. Kovar, J. C. Kovar, Frank Palik, John Svoboda and Frank Svoboda. Interment was in Appleton cemetery. Notes: Birthdate on obituary is different from Birth record. She was the daughter of Jakob Matl and Marianna Dvorak of Horni Slatina
