Read More	Sheridan County Journal, Aug. 11, 2004 FRANCK DETLEF DIERCKS (1922-2004) Franck Detlef Diercks, 81, of Gordon,NE, died Aug. 3, 2004 at the Gordon Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 6, 1922 in Hay Springs, NE to William F. and Louise M. Diercks. He spent his childhood in Sheridan county Nebraska and attended country school and Hay Springs Public School. After graduating from high school he attended Chillicothe Business College and Auctioneer's School where he received his formal education. He entered the service and served overseas in WWII. He became licensed in Nebraska and South Dakota as a Real Estate Broker and in Nebraska as a Real Estate Appraiser. In 1949 he became the owner of Diercks Real Estate. From 1958 to 1987 he was the owner and general manager of Gordon Livestock Auction Market. He was elected and served as president of the National Livestock Market's Association in 1982. Franck married Irene Doris Barth on June 21, 1946. They spent their married life in Hay Springs and Gordon where they were blessed with three children. Irene preceded Franck in death on Oct. 20, 1991. He married Mary Daniels on Feb. 6, 1993. He took great pleasure in his family and his community. In his younger years, he spent hours upon hours driving his motor boat pulling skiers, or spending time camping and fishing or golfing. Survivors include his wife, Mary, his son, Roger Diercks and his wife Becky of Minden, NE; two daughters Connie Diercks and her husband, Harry Pontiff of Minneapolis, MN and Linda Semrad and her husband, Ray of Parson, KS. He is survived by his grandchildren, Detlef and Marcus Diercks, Morgan and Kira Pontiff, Erik Semrad and his wife, Kari and one great grandson, Kyler Semrad. Also surviving is one sister, Margaret Diercks of Gordon. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Diercks. Graveside services were held at the Gordon Cemetery Aug. 7, 2004.
