Description	:	The first ten years of Frank's life were spent in Ellinwood, Kansas, and on his father's farm whither his parents had removed from Ellinwood, Kansas. He first attended a country school and later attended public schools in Bushton, Kansas, where he finished eighth grade at the age of twelve. From 1900 to 1904 he worked in his father's store in Bushton. In 1904 the family moved to Atchison, Kansas, where Frank attended the Atchison Business College. From 1900 to 1904 he worked in his father's store in Bushton. In 1904 the family moved to Atchison, Kansas, where Frank attended the Atchison Business College. He then was cashier of the Mangelsdorf Brothers Company until 1910. He was assistant cashier of the First National Bank of Atchison from 1910 until 1912, when he became cashier of the German Bank of Atchison. Frank married Miss Veva Sawin on June 22, 1914, in Atchison, Kansas. They had one son, Thomas Mangelsdorf who was born about 1918, married, had two children, and died in Carmel, California. Frank had four sisters and five brothers. ----OBITUARY---- F.A. MANGELSDORF DIES. Atchison Businessman and Ex-Banker Was 69. The Kansas City Times Monday, September 30, 1957 Atchison, Kas., Sept. 29-- Frank A. Mangelsdorf, 69, prominent businessman and former banker here, died tonight at the Atchison hospital, where he had been a patient about a week. He suffered a stroke last spring. Mr. Mangelsdorf was the owner of the F. A. Mangelsdorf Seed company, a wholesale firm he founded about 25 years ago. Until about two months ago, he was associated with Fred W. Stein the Stein laboratories, a business which manufactures electronic moisture testers. Mr. Mangelsdorf was born at Ellinwood, Kas., where his father operated a general merchandise store. Mr. Mangelsdorf moved to Atchison when he was teen-ager and shortly before World War I he started working for the old German-American bank here. From about 1920 to 1930 he was affiliated with the old Atchison Savings bank where he was cashier. His brothers, Albert Mangelsdorf and Ed F. Mangelsdorf, are the owners of the Mangelsdorf Seed company of St. Louis and the Ed F. Mangelsdorf and Brother Wholesale Seed company of Atchison. Surviving, besides his two brothers, are his wife, Mrs. Veva Mangelsdorf, of the home; a son, Thomas A. Mangelsdorf, Atchison; two sisters, Miss Clara Mangelsdorf, Webster Groves, Mo., Miss Philomena A. (Minnie) Mangelsdorf, also of Webster Groves, Mo.; a third brother, William C. Mangelsdorf, Dallas, Tex., and two grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. F.A. Mangelsdorf will be held Wednesday morning, October 2, 1957, at 10:00 am. Interment after the service in Mount Vernon Cemetery.
