Elm-st. Bodies of the other two drowning victims, Virgil Turner, 38, of 1036 W. Wayne-st, and Herbert Van Horn, 36, Route 4, Lima, were brought to the lake's surface Friday and Saturday, respectively. Buchanan's body was recovered in about 20 feet of water at the approximate location where his two companions had been found. The recovery was made by state police and conservation officers. Coast Guardsmen had also assisted in dragging the lake thruout Sunday. A Davis, Miller and Son funeral car was on its way back to Lima with Van Horn's body when at 6:55 p.m. it was stopped by state police 10 miles out of Lansing, Mich., and its attendants informed that Buchanan's body had been found. Van Horn's body was left with a Lansing undertaker as the funeral car returned to Cheboygan, Mich., for Buchanan's body. Another Davis, Miller and Son car was dispatched to Lansing and the two bodies were brought into Lima early Monday morning. Buchanan's body may be viewed after 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Davis, Miller and Son funeral home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity church with the Rev. J. Ira Jones officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. The casket will not be opened at the church. A native of Lima, Buchanan was a compositor at The Lima Printing and Ledger Co., and was a member of the Lima Typographical union. He and the other two victims had been accompanied on the trip by their families and Fred Stover and his family. Stover did not go on the fishing trip which ended in tragedy. Buchanan is survived by the widow, Sarah Idella, two daughters, Mary Martha and Sherley Corrine, both at home, brother, O. E. Buchanan, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert H. Buchanan, all of Lima. Funeral services for Turner were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Davis, Miller and Son funeral home. Rev. Charles Zunkle, pastor of the Church of Brethren, was in charge. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery. Van Horn's funeral was to be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Davis, Miller and Son chapel with the Rev. R. L. Hemminger of Elida officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Elida. The steel boat from which the trio had been fishing and which was recovered Saturday afternoon was found to be in good condition. The boat was resting in the mud at the lake's bottom, the motor buried in the mud and the craft's position was on about a 45-degree angle. The boat's air chambers had not been damaged.
