Father Faessler the local priest for this place we have been supplied with the following obituary of our friend Frank Barry. He passed away on Sunday, February 23, 1916 unexpected but well prepared by receiving the sacrament of the holy eucharist, at the age of 52 years, 10 months and 26 days. Heart and stomach trouble was the primary cause of his death and his last days were frought with considerable pain and suffering. He was buried at the St. Joseph cemetery west of Agnew preceded by requiem high mass which was observed at the Agnew church. Rev. Faessler was ably assisted in the solemn services by Father Bradley of Lincoln, as deacon, Father O'Brien of Dawson as sub-deacon and Father O'Boyle of Davey as master of ceremonies. The sermon was delivered by Father Bradley. Frank Barry was born at Monmouth, Illinois on March 27, 1863, and moved with his parents to Nebraska in March 1886. On February 16, 1897 he was married to Miss Elizabeth Dullard and they have always lived on the farm with Aged Mother Barry who is now 83 years old. One son has been born to Mr. and Mrs Barry, Thomas, who is now 17 years of age who with the sorrowing mother and devoted grandmother mourn the loss of son, husband and father. Mr. Barry has two living brothers, Charlie and John and one brother, Mike who died a few years ago. Frank Barry was a kind neighbor a dutiful son a loving husband and an indulgent father. He was loyal to his church, honest with his neighbors and faithful to his friends. A large crowd of sympathizing persons paid their tribute of respects at the funeral services.
