Paul Winkler: Frank Clifford Kaub was born on July 12, 1922 to his parents, Ernest Elroy Kaub and Helen Irene (Mulvany) Kaub at Ottawa, Kansas. Frank graduated from Wellsville, Kansas High School with the class of 1940. He was a life long resident of Ottawa, Kansas. During World War II, Frank served the U.S. navy in the Seabees. During the Korean War he served in the Navy as a refrigeration technician. Frank accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. In 1943 he transferred his membership to North Baptist Church in Ottawa. He, along with his wife, Edna, and children, was a faithful member, attender and giver to the ministry of the church and Christ’s kingdom. On August 6, 1950, Mr. Kaub was united in marriage with Edna Irene Rundell of Garnett, Kansas. They were blessed to celebrate almost forty-six years of marriage together, and to be the parents of eight children. Frank was employed as an electrician for the Sunflower Ordnance Plant of DeSoto, Kansas. Later he was employed by Bendix of Kansas City, MO for twenty-nine years, retiring in 1988. The family suffered the trauma of losing both a son and a daughter through death. Suffering seemed to be a unique burden to Frank, as he experienced numerous operations on his back and joints, but always facing such obstacles with contentment and a smile. Mr. Kaub loved gardening. His vegetable garden was a delight, not just to his family but to participants of North Baptist Church, his church, which stands just across the alley from the family house. Frank was, in fact, out working in his garden just the day before being rushed to the hospital in his final battle of sickness. Frank was the kind of person who would spend endless hours and miles helping his parents, or picking up hitchhikers, helping family and friends. He was a good Samaritan, a giver of himself, a true Christian. Mr. Kaub was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ernest and Helen Kaub; by a brother, Floyd I. Kaub on Nov. 30, 1975; by a son, Gordan Kaub in a traffic accident on March 31, 1987, and by a daughter, Janet Kaub on Dec. 1, 1992. He is survived by his wife, Edna, of the home
