Casket bearers were Ed Brookbank, John Betts, Charles Betts, Frank Cory, Earl Clark and Paul Alex. Interment was in the Coon Rapids cemetery. The life sketch as read at the service follows: Frank Clifford Patch, son of Adelbert and Rachel Patch, was born in Whiteside Co., Ill, Dec. 25, 1868, and passed away at his home in Coon Rapids, Sept. 19, 1946 at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 25 days. He came Jo Shelby county, Iowa, with his parents in 1881. In 1888 they moved to Coon Rapids where he has since made his home. In Aug. 1903, he was married to Kittie Irene Stevens, who preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 1918. When they were married, the Coon Rapids band met them at the depot and marched to their house and serenaded the bridal couple. To this union 3 children were born. Jessie (Mrs. Harry Betts), Fern (Mrs. Chas. Raygor) both of Coon Rapids and Icil (Mrs. Frank H. Moss, Jr.) of Chicago, Ill. He united with the Christian church in early youth where he served as Sunday school superintendent and as an elder in his church. He was an honorary elder at the time of his death. Frank was well known and loved by all who knew him and was a friend to old and young alike. He ha, a keen sense of humor and his genial disposition was an inspiration to all who knew him. After the death of his wife he raised his three daughters alone. He kept the Christian church going at times when he had to carry the coal and kindling from his own home to keep the church warm. Even when he was sick he was always jolly and goodnatured. He was the city's first mail carrier, mapping out the route for those who came later. For years he worked in the city mills and in Spieker's store where he made many friends among the public. Failing health, has kept him confined to his home for many years but he still kept in touch with his many friends. Those left to mourn his passing are his three daughters, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grand children, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
