The pallbearers were Glen Slick, Reuben Carpenter, Will Lorenz, Henry Hunt, Art Moser and W.W. Keith, W.W. Baskerville and Austin Slick were honorary pall bearers. Frank Edward Bell was born the only son of William H. Bell and Sarah Elizabeth Cornwell Bell on the the first day of September in the year 1873. At the age of seventy-two years his earthly life came to a close in St. Luke's Methodist hospital, Cedar Rapids. Mr. Bell spent his entire life on the parental farm in the Almoral neighborhood north of Earlville where he was born, educated at Epworth Seminary. Mr. Bell came back to the home community as a farmer and through the years contributed to its rich Christian heritage. On June 8, 1904 Mr. Bell was united in marriage with Rose Palmer of Garber, Iowa. They became the parents of four children. An infant daughter, Amber Audrey preceded her father in death. Three children together with Mrs. Bell survive. They are Rev. R.M. Bell of Gladbrook, William Bell of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Francis Fordyce of Mt. Vernon. Four grandchildren complete the list of descendants from the bereaved family. All three of Mr. Bell's sisters survive him and all visited during his illness, Mrs. Pheobe Rich of Gothenburg, Neb., Miss Emma Bell and Miss Sadie Bell of Earlville, who also live in the parental home. In his youth, Mr. Bell was a member of the Almoral church where he taught a Sunday school class and served as superintendent of the church school. At the time of his death he was a member of the official board of the Earlville Methodist church. Br. Bell was always interested in education, giving sixteen consecutive years of earnest work as a school board member of the Oneida Consolidated school. He saw one of his chief goals realized when each of his children graduated from college. His last community endeavor was as a township chairman for the War bond drives. Although he was a quiet man of simple wants he enjoyed many satisfactions. He wanted most off all a spiritual strength for his homr and community.
