Description	:	Frank was born in the small mountain community of Oberhermersdorf in the German province of Sachsen (Saxony). Today Oberhermersdorf is now called Adelsberg and is a suburb of Chemnitz. In March 1892, shortly before they immigrated to America Frank married Clara Hoesel. This marriage produced three sons,Frank Jr., Richard, Alfred and one daughter, Elsie. In March 1892, shortly before they immigrated to America Frank married Clara Hoesel. This marriage produced three sons,Frank Jr., Richard, Alfred and one daughter, Elsie. Only the oldest, Frank Jr., was born in Germany. On 17 March 1892 they arrived at the newly opened Ellis Island aboard the S.S. Spree with two pieces of baggage. Traveling with them was Clara's brother, Herman Hoesel. They established a 140 acre homestead northeast of New Salem in the Rosebud area. Many of their family homesteaded in this area; next to them were Frank's aunt Anna Zeutschel, a few mile northeast was Frank's parents, brother Emil, and Clara's brother Max. On 5April 1893 Frank paid a $10 filing fee for the land. On November 20, 1900 after proving he had resided on the land, cultivated it and improved it along with becoming a citizen the land was declared his. Frank became a naturalized citizen on 4 June 1900 in the Burleigh County District Court. Since wood was scarce Frank and Clara use sod to build their first home which they built in the German style where by half the building was used for a barn the other half was use for their house. The first year they lived there a bad prairie fire spread across their homestead and the Golde family took refuge in the sod house which they knew would not burn. Frank, Clara and Frank Jr. were lucky not to suffocate like the horses that were in the other half of the house. The Golde family prospered and around 1904 Frank and Clara had a large wood house built. The house had a large wraparound porch and a hip dome roof. In 1920 Frank and Clara retired and moved to New Salem. In 1933 Clara passed away. Frank married Anna Arndt on 3 October 1941. She was a widow with a grown daughter. They were married for seven years and ended with Frank's death at their home at the age of 71.
