Fiedler, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fiedler, passed away very suddenly of a heart attack at his home near Fairmont, Neb., April 2, 1949, at 11:30 a. m. He was born February 26, 1891, in Fillmore county, Nebraska. He was brought to the Triune God through the sacrament of Holy Baptism, October 25, 1891. The sacrament was performed by Pastor William F. Rotamel. June 9, 1940, he renewed his baptismal covenant through the rite of confirmation in Geneva, Neb., by Rev. R. H. Vollmers. August 16, 1925, he was united in holy wedlock with Alvina Domeier at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Domeier, in Madison township. They lived within Fillmore county all their married life, the last twelve years in the vicinity of Fairmont. Frank served in the First World War. He was one of the first five who enlisted in this county September 5, 1917, at Geneva. He was discharged April 26, 1919. He spent twelve months overseas. He leaves to mourn his passing his living, devoted wife, Alvina, one brother, William of Hastings, and a host of relatives and friends. His father, mother, and two brothers preceded him in death, his mother only a few months ago. A short service was held at the home at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday, April5, with services at Grace Evangelical Lutheran church in Geneva at 2:15 p. m., Rev. D. Grummert, the pastor officiated. Doris and Helen Riel sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "Heaven is My Home." Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased. Rex Brown, Harlen Domeier, Vern Domeier, Herman Everts, Earl Fiedler and LeRoy Mohnike. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. "And thus I live in God contented, And die without a thought of fear; My soul has to God's plans consented. For through His Son my faith is clear. My God, for Jesus' sake I pray Thy peace may bless my dying day." The Nebraska Signal April 7th, 1949 page 1.
