Read More	Frank was the son of John Fritz and Mary Amanda Britton. He married Matilda Arntz on April 7, 1891 in Carroll, Iowa. Jan 14, 1915 - Carroll Times page 1 - Frank Fritz, one of the best known citizens of Carroll, died at St. Anthony's Hospital, at 5:40 a.m. January 10th. He had been sick since the middle of October, but had been confined to his bed only a few days before his death. In fact he was able to be down town at his accustomed place of business during parts of November and December but was at that time suffering from the disease which finally brought about his death. The deceased was born September 1, 1866, in Waterloo, Iowa, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Fritz. The family moved to Carroll while Frank was quite small so that nearly all his life has been spent in this city. His father died in Carroll in 1898, as the result of burns. Frank was married April 7, 1891, to Miss Tillie Arntz, the ceremony taking place in SS. Peter and Paul's church, Carroll. Six children were born to this union, of whom five are living at the home in Carroll, the names being Edward, Arthur, Annie, Mary and Charlotte. One child, Robert, died in infancy. Two sisters of the deceased, Jennie and Emma, and one brother, Tony, also survive. For many years Mr. Fritz has conducted a popcorn and peanut stand in Carroll, his location having been moved during the last year to the present site on Adams street. His pleasant manner and the fact that his wares werea always fresh and well prepared gave him a good trade and many people will learn with regret that they will never again be able to see his smiling face at the old familiar stand. For some years he was deputy sheriff and in this way became well known over the county. He performed the duties of the office faithfully and well and although he was crippled shortly after his marriage by injuries received in a runnaway he had the courage and nerve to over balance this physical handicap. He gave up the work a few months ago being unable to attend to it and his other business. Mr Fritz was a member of St Josephs Roman Catholic church and faithful to his religious vows. He was a good citizen a kind husband and father and a loyal friend. The funeral was held Tuesday at St Josephs church and he was buried in the cemetery of that parish. The pall bearers were selected from those who had been associated with him while an employe of the county and consisted of Sheriff Hamilton, Fred Miller, Clerk of courts, J.J. Kempker county treasurer, J.J. Meyers, Chales Ludwig, and Barney Bolster.
