Description	:	Services for Frank G. Martin, 84, who died Tuesday evening at Marshalltown Area Community Hospital, have been set for 11 a.m. Saturday from the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Bailey in charge. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Masonic services will be conducted in the chapel by Marshall Lodge 108 AF & AM. Born in Marshalltown on Nov. 30, 1899. he was the son of Gid and Daisy Whittaker Martin. He was married to Etha M. Alexander on June 12, 1922. in Marshalltown and she preceded him in death in 1971. Born in Marshalltown on Nov. 30, 1899. he was the son of Gid and Daisy Whittaker Martin. He was married to Etha M. Alexander on June 12, 1922. in Marshalltown and she preceded him in death in 1971. Survivors include three children: Cheryle (Mrs. Kenneth) Todd, Renton, Wash. ; Allis (Mrs. Vernon) Wansley, with whom he had been making his home in Marshalltown, and Ronald Martin, Los Angeles, Calif. Also surviving are two grand-children, two brothers, Clifford Martin, Inglewood, Calif.. and Lewis Martin of Green Mountain, and a sister, Margaret (Mrs. Tucker) Teasdale of Grundy Center. Mr. Martin was raised and educated in Union, working with his father on the family farm and in an auto repair and service business. Later he was a foreman with the Rude Ford Garage, prior to owning his own repair service in Madrid. He returned to Marshalltown in 1942 and was a shop manager with the Marshalltown Water Department, retiring in 1964. Mr. Martin was a member of First United Methodist Church, Marshall Lodge 108 AF & AM, NRA and the Marshall County Wildlife Association. from Marshalltown IA newspaper Times Republican dated September 19 1984
