Description	:	Frank Gainer was born Sept. 13, 1917, in Grantsville, WV, a son of the late Okey and Ester Ann Gainer. He began employment with Hope Gas company, Grantsville, in 1938. Frank was drafted into the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served his country in the South Pacific Theater on LST Troop Transporter. He was sent home for his father's funeral in 1945 and was discharged as the war ended. Frank resumed working for Hope Gas until his retirement in 1975. Read More	Frank Gainer was born Sept. 13, 1917, in Grantsville, WV, a son of the late Okey and Ester Ann Gainer. He began employment with Hope Gas company, Grantsville, in 1938. He spent his life in and around Grantsville and became a member of the Rush Run Baptist Church, where he served on several committees and drove the church bus until 1998. Frank enjoyed being with people, especially later in life at the Senior Center in Grantsville. He also liked bowling, hunting, fishing and farming. Surviving are a sister, Tootsie Blankenship og Grantsville; two sons, James O. Gainer (Sharon) of Parkersburg, WV, and Thurl J. Gainer (Judy) of Harrisville, WV; five grandchildren, James O. Gainer II of Grantsville, Shellie Gainer (Lance) of Newport Beach, CA, Mark Gainer (Suzanne) of Orient, OH, Thurl J. Gainer Jr. (Cathy) of Dublin, OH, and Stacie Goff (Scot) of Harrisville; three great-grandchildren, Mitchel and Alex A. Gainer, both of Dublin, OH and Wyatt Goff of Harrisville. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife of 67 years, Vesta Burroughs Gainer; four infant siblings; five sisters, Euthal Gainer, Gladys Bower, Louise Rusniek, Claire Smith and Dutch Jarvis; and two brothers, George and Harris. Services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 3rd, 10:00 a.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Interment will follow at Collins Cemetery, Stumptown.
