Description	:	Not proven buried in this cemetery, but seems most likely. --------------- Frank Geersen was born in Nykjobing, Falster, Denmark, July 9, 1838 and died June 13, 1910, aged 71 years 11 months and 3 days. He was in the Danish German war 1864 and was wounded twice in the battle at Dybbel. He came to America in 1865, in 1871 he took a homestead two miles northwest of Nysted, the first year or two after taking his homestead he worked part of the time at the blacksmith trade in Grand Island. Read More	Not proven buried in this cemetery, but seems most likely. --------------- Frank Geersen was born in Nykjobing, Falster, Denmark, July 9, 1838 and died June 13, 1910, aged 71 years 11 months and 3 days. He was in the Danish German war 1864 and was wounded twice in the battle at Dybbel. He came to America in 1865, in 1871 he took a homestead two miles northwest of Nysted, the first year or two after taking his homestead he worked part of the time at the blacksmith trade in Grand Island. In 1873 he was married to Miss Gertrude Jensen. To this union six children, three sons and daughters, were born. One son died in infancy. The others are Peter Geersen in Gage Valley precinct, Mrs. Ike Ohlund, Bitter Creek, Wyo., Mrs. John A. Johnson southwest of Dannebrog, George and Miss Julia who have always made their home with their parents. About 1880 Mr. Geersen sold the farm north of Nysted and bought the one southwest of Dannebrog, where the family have lived since, with the exception of a year or two they lived in Dannebrog. Mr. Geersen had been a hard worker, but the last few years has had heart trouble and at times was quite weak. The day he died he went out in the field to pick up some wood, apparently as well as ever, and a few hours after he was found dead on top of a few sticks he had gathered. Doctor Pedersen was called at once, but Mr. Geersen had been dead for several hours, the cause of death being heart failure.
