March 12, 1873 she was married to Mr. Frank Geersen in Grand Island and the same spring moved with him unto their homestead five miles northwest of Dannebrog, where they lived a number of years. Six children, three sons and three daughters, were born to them, one son died in infancy. March 12, 1873 she was married to Mr. Frank Geersen in Grand Island and the same spring moved with him unto their homestead five miles northwest of Dannebrog, where they lived a number of years. Six children, three sons and three daughters, were born to them, one son died in infancy. Several years ago the Geersens sold their farm and moved to Dannebrog for a couple of years, and a few years ago they bought what is known as the Carl Mogensen farm southwest of town, and moved there, where Mr. Geersen died June 13, 1910. Mrs. Geersen died Oct. 24, 1912, aged 65 years, 3 months and 16 days. The living children are, Peter Geersen of Gage Valley; Mrs. Annie Johnson, Boelus; Mrs. Mary Ohland, Laramie, Wyo. and George and Miss Julia who has been living at home with their mother. Mrs. Geersen was one of the good, true and sturdy pioneer women, she was a kind and loving mother, a good friend and neighbor and was respected and honored by all who knew her. We had known her for nearly forty years and knew her to be a lady in every respect. The funeral from the Lutheran church Saturday afternoon was very largely attended.
