Mr. Brashier was born December 4, 1923, in Simpsonville to the late John Lewis Brashier, Sr. and Onie Tucker Brashier. He was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church, where he served nine years as a Deacon and eight years as an Elder, was in the Covenant Sunday School Class and served as Elder Emeritus. Mr. Brashier was born December 4, 1923, in Simpsonville to the late John Lewis Brashier, Sr. and Onie Tucker Brashier. He was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church, where he served nine years as a Deacon and eight years as an Elder, was in the Covenant Sunday School Class and served as Elder Emeritus. He and his wife Janie served Meals-on-Wheels for 10 years. He first retired from M.P. Huskey Company in Mauldin and then from the U.S. Civil Service after serving for 20 years. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a craftsman who enjoyed woodworking. Surviving in addition to his wife, are four brothers, Lawrence Brashier and his wife Dot of Fountain Inn, Bob Brashier and his wife Willie, Fred Brashier and his wife Betty, and Ed Brashier and his wife Pat, all of Simpsonville; one granddaughter, Rene Busby and her husband Michael of Gray Court; one great-grandchild, Preston Gilbert; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Michael Busby, Jr. and Mitchell Busby; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren, Blake and Alyssa Busby of Beaufort; and one sister-in-law, Will O. Nell Brashier. He was predeceased by one daughter, Phyllis Woods; one son-in-law, Kay Woods; two brothers, Lewis and Claude Brashier, and by one sister, Frances Brashier. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Ned Worstall and Rev. Peter Spink. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Cannon Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Fairview Presbyterian Church Family Life Center, 126 Fairview Church Road, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.
