Graves of Sutter County Dies in His Home --- Live Oak (Sutter Co.), Oct. 23, Frank Henry Graves, farmer and stockman, who for 36 years was chairman of the Sutter County Board of Supervisors, died in his home near Live Oak Saturday night. He was 80 years old and a native of Sutter County. "His family was one of the oldest in Sutter County. His mother crossed the plains in 1849 and married Henry Sherman Graves, owner of a ranch six miles north of West Butte. "Graves' father also served as a member of the Sutter County Board of Supervisors. At his death he left one of the largest ranches in the county, consisting of 4,700 acres. The ranch where the son died formerly was part of the acreage owned by his parents. "Funeral Is Arranged --- Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church in Live Oak under the direction of the Ullery Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery. Rev. J. S. Sanderson will officiate. "Graves is survived by his wife, Lilly; a daughter, Mrs. Jessie Powell, and a son, Frank Graves, Jr., both of Live Oak; a son, Cletus Graves of Mill Valley, and a daughter, Mrs. Helen Becker of Folsum, Sacramento County. "He also is survived by a brother Albert Graves of Yuba City, and his sisters, Mrs. Helen Farnsworth of San Jose and Mrs. Carrie Godfrey of Santa Cruz. Also surviving are three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. "Served For 44 Years --- Graves first was elected to the board of supervisors in 1900.
