Read More	SOURCE: Death Certificate ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' The Billings Gazette, (MT.) 2/20/1992 Thursday Page 8 Frank Hofmann, Jr. WORDEN, MT. ---- Frank Hofmann, Jr., age 75, of Worden, died Saturday Feb. 15, 1992, at the home of his son, Richard, after a long illness. he was born May 7, 1916 at Osborn, MT., the son of Frank and Marie Herzog Hofmann. He graduated from Huntley Project High School in 1935. He married Ethel McFarren on Dec. 26, 1938, in Worden. Frank and his brother, Clarence, operated Hofmann Brothers Blacksmith and Welding for over 50 years, retiring in 1982. His wife Ethel, died Nov. 27, 1987. He married Alberta Leonard Gray on Jan. 6, 1990, in Worden. He loved to hunt, fish and dance. He enjoyed baseball and had played in the Midland Empire League from 1946-48. Frank was a resident deputy for the Yellowstone County Sheriffs Department many years. He also operated a wrecker service in conjunction with the shop. Frank was an honorary letterman for Huntley Project High School and was basketball timekeeper for the school 25 years. He was a member of Huntley Project Lodge No. 144, AF & AM of which he was past master, Scottish Rite Bodies, York Rite Bodies, Al Bedoo Shrine Temple and Jephthah Chapter No. 116, O.E.S. Survivors include his wife, Alberta of Worden,; five sons; Richard, Michael and Joseph all of Billings, James E. of Wenatchee, WA., and Dale of Ashland; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Meri Hofmann) Lile, and two stepdaughters; one stepson; two brothers, Clarence of Worden and Ernest of Havre, MT.; four sisters, Mrs. Otto (Anna) Mueller of Java, S.D., Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Kirchner of Rapelje, MT., Mrs. Edward (Esther) Thaut and Elsie Dalke, both of Billings; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and seven step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bethel Congregational Church in Worden. Interment will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery in Ballantine, MT. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge. Memorials may be made to Bethel Congregational Church in Worden; or Worden Ambulance Service; or Big Sky Hospice.
