Overturf of Darby, 60 years of age, is a patient at the Hamilton hospital suffering from spotted fever. It is believed that he contracted the disease from the bite of a wood tick while working in the timber west of Lake Como. His condition is said to be serious. It is the second spotted fever case reported in the valley so far this season, the other being little Susie Roberts, who is seriously ill with the disease at the home of her parents on Adirondack avenue. ---------------------------------------------------- Great Falls Tribune (Great Falls, Montana) - 27 April 1924, Sun * p. 4 Spotted Fever Is Fatal For Pioneer Special to The Tribune. Hamilton, April 26.-- The body of Frank H. Overturf, who died of spotted fever, was sent Saturday to Darby for burial Sunday afternoon. Mr. Overturf was a pioneer resident of the Darby community, his parents being the first family to settle there. He was about 60 years of age and is survived by his wife and six children as well as four sisters, all living in the Darby community.
