Mr. Jenks was about his usual duties and was conversing with parties with parties in his place of business when he was stricken. The deceased had resided in this city for about thirteen years, and was one of our best-known citizens. He was of a quiet retiring nature and all who knew him will regret his sudden death. Frank Jenks was born on a farm in Benton County, in the Vinton neighborhood, June 29, 1879, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Jenks, who preceded him in death. For a long number of years he resided in Mt. Auburn before coming to this city to live. On May 5, 1900, he was married to Miss Maryette Barr, who with three children, a son, Clyde, and the daughters, Zola and Opal, all of this city, survives. On daughter preceded him in death. He is also survived by two brothers and a sister, Bud Jenks, of near Brandon, James Jenks, Waterloo and Mrs. Golda Calkins, of Clear Lake Wis. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the M. E. church in charge of Rev. W. F. Brecher, pastor of the Evangelical church, assisted by Rev. T. M. Nielsen, pastor of the M. E. church. The deceased was an honored member of the IOOF lodge of this city, and the members of that organization attended the funeral in body, and the burial service of the order was exemplified at West Veiw cemetery where interment was made. The music included three trios, "We are Going Down the Valley,: "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross," by M. C. Jacobs, Weldon Betts and Al Brock. The casket bearers were C. A. Fultz, W. F. Christopher, J. H. Goon, J. H. Morrison, Elmer Riggle and Glen Haven. As a mark of respect to the memory of the deceased the business places of the city were closed during the funeral hour.
