Hammer, pastor of Gilmore City Methodist church officiating. Mrs. Russell Hoveland accompanied Mrs. Richard Stamper who sang two hymns. Burial was in Marble Valley cemetery. He apparently had suffered a heart attack some time Thursday night. The son of Franz and Gertrude Fisher, he was born Feb. 8, 1870, in Hamburg, Germany, and came to the United States when he was six years old. he resided in Illinois and at Manson and Rolfe before cominng to Gilmore City. For many years he bought old iron and furs here. He married Lena Christensen in 1896. She died in 1950, and he was also preceded in death by four children, three in infancy and Mrs. Mae Behrends in 1937. Also preceding him were two brothers and one sister. Surviving are five children, Fred Fisher, Mrs. Goldie Thornton and Mrs. Harvey Hutchinson, all of Gilmore City, Mrs. Albert Bartosh of Carroll and Mrs. Francis Tierney of Fort Dodge. Other survivors are eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; five brothers and two sisters, Tony of Estherville, Theodore of Algona, George of Whittemore, Ernest of Fort Dodge, David of Livermore, Mrs. Hannah of Spencer and Mrs. Elizabeth Prepgrass of Lake Crystal, Minn.
