Mr. Ochs was a resident of Chase and Dundy county for 74 years and enjoyed a wide acquaintance in the region. He passed away at the Hester Memorial Home In Benkelman on Tuesday, August 18th after several months of ill health. Orville Hunt delivered the sermon. The singers were Mrs. Duane Durham and Mrs. Orville Hunt. Bearers were Bill Buffington, Robert McBride, Dean Kitt, George Blobaum, Kenneth Hicks and Gordon Price. The V. B. Johnston Mortuary of Wauneta were in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Riverside cemetery in Wauneta. Frank Lee Ochs, son of Jacob and Mary Ochs was born March 23, 1874, near Dunkerton, Iowa. When a young lad of sixteen, he moved with his family to Dundy county, Nebraska where they settled on a homestead. On June 18th, 1900, he was united in marriage to Nellie Kimsey of the Indian Creek neighborhood. They began their married life on a homestead on Muddy Creek, and later they moved to the home of his parents, taking over the duties of the farm. One daughter, Frieda, was born to this union. In 1919, the family moved to Wauneta to be nearer to school and the church of which he has been a member for many years. Mr. Ochs was employed at Krotters elevator and later was village marshal for several years. Last October he suffered a heart attack from which he never fully recovered. Following the death last May of his mate of nearly 64 years, Mr. Ochs' health began to fail rapidly. Death came at Benkelman on Tuesday, August 18, 1964, at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 25 days. He was the last surviving member of a family of five children. Survivors who mourn his passing are his daughter and son-in-law, Frieda and Clarence Christner, two grandchildren, LaRue Gunderson and Dean Christner and wife Ethel and four great grandchildren, Douglas, Linda and Nola Christner and Raymond Gunderson. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
