Her death was sudden and apparently result of a heart attack. Mrs Clarence Christner discovered the body of her mother sitting in rocking chair with a newspaper lying In her lap, which she evidently had been reading. Mrs. Ochs was the first white child born in Dundy county. She was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Kimsey who came here with their family from Nemaha county and settled on Indian Creek around 1881, where Mrs. Ochs was born and grew to womanhood. R. Nellie Ochs was born to Thomas and Sarah Kimsey on March 4, 1882, and departed this life on May 27. 1964. at the age of 82 years. two months and 23 days. She received her education in the country schools and at Max, Nebraska. In the year 1900, on June 18, she became the bride of Frank L. Ochs. To this union was born one daughter, Frieda, who is now Mrs. Clarence Christner. Being the first white child born in Dundy county, Mrs. Ochs was a true pioneer, having endured many hardships of the early days. Mrs. Ochs was a member of the Church of Christ and had remained steadfast in her faith through the years. Preceding Mrs. Ochs in death were her parents, two brothers, Sam and Walter, and four sisters, Lizzie, Fannie, Ora and Belle. She leaves to mourn her passing her devoted husband; her daughter and son-in-law; two grandchildren, LaRue Gunderson of Wauneta and Dean Christner of Westminster, Colorado, and his wife Ethel; four great grandchildren, Douglas, Linda and Nola Christner and Raymond Gunderson; one sister, Mrs. Florence Evans, of Santa Cruz, California; many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, May 29, at the Church of Christ. Evangelist Darrel Foltz of Gothenburg gave the burial sermon and interment was in Wauneta's Riverside Cemetery. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
