Description	:	Son of Elizabeth Dorrance and Thomas E. Goff. Married to Adelaide Charlotte Allen on 04 Jan 1878, Maiden Rock, WI, by Rev. Ottis. They had 10 children. Frank was reportedly 6'3" or 6'4" tall. Moved from Lake City, MN to Richland Co, ND in 1887 to work at a stock ranch owned by Jewel Nursery Company of Lake City, MN. In 1900 he moved to Lidgerwood, ND and was an auctioneer until 1936 when he broke his neck in an auto accident. In 1900 he moved to Lidgerwood, ND and was an auctioneer until 1936 when he broke his neck in an auto accident. After several months he recovered, although crippled to some degree, and returned to work as a cream buyer/cream station operator. His cause of death was listed as cardiac decomposition and bronchial asthma. He was buried in Lidgerwood, ND on 01/03/44. ******************************************* Frank L. Goff, Early City Pioneer Died Dec. 31st One of Lidgerwood's oldest and best loved residents, Frank Louis Goff, 86, passed away Friday, December 31, at the Hankinson hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 2, at the Methodist church where he had been a member for many years. Rev. Ray McClure officiated. Surviving Mr. Goff are his wife, Mrs. Adelaide Goff, and four sons and four daughters: Mrs. C. E. Smith of Corvina, Calif., Frank Goff of Rutland, Mrs. J. W. Doan, McKenzie, N. D., George Goff, Minneapolis, Clayton Goff of Mankato, Minn., Leonard Goff of Lidgerwood, Mrs. Florence Palzak of Lidgerwood, Mrs. J. B. Bowman of Fairmount. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Two children preceded him in death. Mr. Goff was born in Syracuse, New York, December 5, 1857. When a young man he came to live with his grandparents in Rochester where he lived until 1878. He then went to Lake City, Minn. where he married Miss Adelaide Allen, January 4, 1879. They came to Lidgerwood in 1887 where they have resided for 57 years. Mr. Goff was a man much beloved and respected. For many years he was manager of the local North American cream station and was an auctioneer until his retirement. He is best known as the city's municipal judge, a position which he held for 20 years. As justice he dealt with hundreds of cases and his decisions were always fair and impartial. Interment was made at the Pleasantview cemetery. Active pallbearers were J. C. Haas, G. H. Movius, Lee Swanson, A. H. Heley, A. H. Wirtenberger, and Ralph Bohn. Honorary pallbearers were M. A. Worcester, Herman Shustrum, George Collings, Tim Lynch, Dan Riley, Frank Lyons, August Wolter, Jack Rapp and George Stroehl.
