D, 124th Ohio Inf., of Liberty Center, OH Born 19 Nov 1845 in Fairfield Co., OH, son of Michael Neff of PA and Miss Shumaker. He died 18 Dec 1913 at Bellevue, Sandusky Co., OH; married to Sarah Cordelia Button (common law marriage). "It is, therefore, held that the claimant's relation with the soldier, illicit at inception, so continued during its existence.
