Some years ago Mr Ruzicka suffered a paralytic stroke and almost entirely recoved from the effects of it, but of recent months he had a reacurrence of his former trouble which left him speechless, but able to be about. A man of industrious habits and ambitions, he kept up a active interest in his work and was stricken with the fatal attack while at work in the yard near his home. His wife noticed that all was not well and hastened to his side and assisted him to the house but he collapsed before she and their son Jaroslav, had helped him into his home. Realizing the seriousness of his condition he was brought to town to the home of Mrs John Blazek, mother of Mrs Ruzicka, where with a trained nurse to assist he was given every care and comfort and where he quietly breathed his last. The earthly career of the departed was spent in Colfax County and Maple Creek precinct has always been his home, where he was born the 19th of March 1880. He was the son of Mr and Mrs John Ruzicka and his aged father who survives him is a resident of this place. On the 24 of January in 1905, he was married to Miss Josphine Blazek of the same community and their wedded life was spent amoung the friends and associations of their youth. Their home life was shared by two sons Jaroslav and Milo, and one daughter Lillian and the passing of this honored man not alone places a heavy burden of sorrow upon those who are bound to him by family ties, for his death is also mourned by a brother Joseph Ruzicka and a sister Mrs Emil Novak but their loss is shared by many friends. By the life he lived honest, upright, kindly and God fearing he left the record of well spent days as a monument to his memory. "Death is another life we bow our heads At going out, we think and enter straight Another golden chamber of the King's Larger than this we leave, and Lovelier." The funeral was held the following Monday morning and many were the friends who gathered from far and near with the relatives to pay by their presence a deserved tribute to the memory of one who during his long residence in the county was ever regarded a man of sincerity, a devoted husband, father amd son, a loyal citzen and worthy friend. After a brief service at the family home, Rev J. Havlik continued the holy rites at Bethlehem Chapel where the departed worshipped in life, he was assisted by the church choir and in his sermon brought a message of comfort to the hearts of the bereaved who have the sympathy of all in the community in their great loss. A the close the services were concluded by Rev, Havlik at the open tomb in Zion cemetery wher the remains were laid to rest amoung a tribute of lovly flowers in that beautiful little city of the dead to await the coming of Christ on the resurrection morn.
