On December 28, 1944, he was married to Hilda Miller. He was converted and baptized in 1926. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Hilda; four daughters, Pearl Rath and Eileen Ochsner of Saronville, Margie Pope of Sutton and Wilma Vance of Johnson City, Tenn.; one son, Robert of Saronville; six grandchildren; three brothers, George of Fullerton, N.D., Ray of Lushton and Ernest of Sutton; two sisters, Chrissie Zimbelman of Burlingame, Cal., Elsie Hunzeker of Blackfoot, Idaho; two half-brothers, Charles Salmen of York and Casper Salmen of White Lake, S.D., and one half-sister, Anna Kleinschmidt of Grafton. He also leaves other relatives and a host of friends. He was a devoted husband and father and will be sadly missed from the family circle. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Evangelical UB church in Sutton. Dr. Paul Porter, Aurora, assisted by Rev. Dan H. Berger, Sutton, were in charge of the services. Kenneth Kauk sang two hymns, accompanied by Mrs. Walter Maser at the organ. Pallbearers were eight nephews of the deceased, Russell, Neil, Morris and Wesley Salmen, Alferd, Leroy, Emil and Kenneth Miller. Burial was in the Sutton cemetery.
