He was born in Morgantown, Indiana, but had lived in Allen County since 1880. In his early years in Iola, Mr. Canatsey was associated in a barber shop with James Hershberger. Canatsey, age 84, died last night at Norton, Kansas. He was born in Morgantown, Indiana, but had lived in Allen County since 1880. In his early years in Iola, Mr. Canatsey was associated in a barber shop with James Hershberger. Later he was a member of the Iola Fire Department. For about thirty-six years he was employed as a salesman for the J. V. Roberts Music Store, a position which he kept until his retirement a year or two ago. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He leaves a son, T. O. Canatsey, Iola; two daughters, Mrs. G. M. Garlock and Mrs. J. B. Aydelotte, both of Ft. Scott and several grandchildren. Funeral arrangements have not been completed and will be announced by Sleeper Mortuary. * * * The Iola Register, Nov. 20, 1943, p. 1. CANATSEY FUNERAL MONDAY Funeral services for F. S. Canatsey, who died Thursday at Norton, KS, will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m., at Sleeper's Chapel, with the Rev. Chester E. Sisney in charge.
