Description	:	Frank V. (Xavier) Kostal was the son of Frank Anton Kostal and Rosie Annie (Petrik) Kostal. Frank married Mary "Mamie" L. Stverak on February 12th, 1945 at St. George's Catholic Church. They farmed in Scotland until Frank's retirement from farming in 1972. Frank and Mamie had no children of their own. In June of 1990, Frank entered the Menno-Olivet Care Center in Menno, South Dakota. He was living there when he passed away at the age of 88 years. (Xavier) Kostal was the son of Frank Anton Kostal and Rosie Annie (Petrik) Kostal. Frank married Mary "Mamie" L. Stverak on February 12th, 1945 at St. George's Catholic Church. They farmed in Scotland until Frank's retirement from farming in 1972. Frank and Mamie had no children of their own. In June of 1990, Frank entered the Menno-Olivet Care Center in Menno, South Dakota. He was living there when he passed away at the age of 88 years. At the time of her death, Mamie had been receiving care at St. Benedict's Hospital in Parkston. Funeral Mass was held at St. George's Catholic Church. Her burial followed in the St. George's Catholic Church Cemetery. Mary "Mamie" Kostal was born on the family farm on January 7th, 1912 in Bon Homme County, South Dakota. Her parents were Joseph Stverak and Christina (Hamberger) Stverak. At the time of her death, she was survived by one brother who was Rudolph Stverak. To the union of Frank Anton Kostal and Rosie Annie (Petrik) Kostal, several children were born. Three of their children were lost in infancy or early childhood: Mary Kostal (born in 1890 and lost at the age of three years), James Kostal (born in 1899 or 1900), and Joseph Kostal (born 1899 or 1900 and died in 1901 at the age of two years). Four children survived to adulthood: Anna Theresa (Kostal) Kozel, Elizabeth M. "Elsie" Kostal, Frank Xavier Kostal (whose middle name is often shown as a "V"), and George Joseph Kostal (who was lost to pulmonary tuberculosis). Frank V.
