Talbott, son of Francis O. and Effie Newbanks Talbott, was born October 22, 1903, on a farm north of Douds and departed this life Sunday Oct. 28, 1973, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 70. Talbott, son of Francis O. and Effie Newbanks Talbott, was born October 22, 1903, on a farm north of Douds and departed this life Sunday Oct. 28, 1973, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 70. He attended Douds High School and Iowa State College at Ames. On December 7, 1929, he was married to Thelma E. Channel at Keosauqua. They lived in Keosauqua, where he was employed at Farmers Cooperative Creamery until 1939 when they moved to California where he was a dryer tender in a plywood mill. In 1971 they retired to Douds. Remaining to cherish his memory are his widow, Thelma, his mother, Mrs. Effie Talbott Ellis of Keosauqua, two brothers, Charles of Eldon and Clarence of Fairfield, a sister, Mrs. Margaret Findlay of Casa Grande, Arizona, a grandson, Timothy Talbott and a great-granddaughter, Corrie Dawn Talbott, both of Live Oak, Calif., other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Ernest, an infant daughter, Evelyn and his father. Frank was a lifelong Methodist and a member of the Douds Community Club and Douds Field Day Association. He will be remembered for his pleasant good nature, and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need and to support community activities. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 31, 1973 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with the Rev. Gerald Caughron and the Rev. Glen Willier officiating. Interment was in Mt.
