Said grandpa can remember just sitting there and watching him ride off into the sunset in his tall hat and trench coat and be gone for days. "Franklin married Mary Ann Cowan, Nov. 20, 1867 in Brownville, Poweshiek Cnty, Iowa, and they had 13 children total. Clarence Ernest, Addie Viola "Ada", Thomas Homer, James Carey, Oscar Winifield, Florence Winnifried, Edward Franklin, Jennie Martha, George Orion, Charles Austin, Luther Vernon, Walter Hugh and John Mervyn. "Addie, Oscar, Jennie & Luther are all buried side by side in Bethel cemetery. "Submitted by Alvin Poole, great great grandson". Stone is off the base.
