Frnaklin Sylvester Walser was born in Marion townshi pon Dec. 28, 1857, and died in Kansas City, Mo., Jan. 5, 1905, at the age of 48 years and 7 days. He was an earnest, industrious, straightforward man and had the love and respect of all his neighbors and acquaintances. He was married to Miss Mollie Hough on March 27, 8189. He was an earnest, industrious, straightforward man and had the love and respect of all his neighbors and acquaintances. He was married to Miss Mollie Hough on March 27, 8189. To this union were born two children--Leila and John, who with the loving wife are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. He leaves a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Walser, one brother, Sylvester, and three sisters, Mrs. C.C. Mentzer, Mrs John C. Stookey and Mrs. W.A. Robins, all of Linn county, Iowa. He united with the Presbyterian church in Marion in 1889 and he and his wife transferred their letters to the Methodist church at Wesley Chapel in March, 1894, to which he has faithfully and cheerfully given his support to this time. The funeral was held from the family residence Sunday afternoon, Jan. 8, and was conducted by his pastor, Rev. Van Horn. Interment at Marion Cemetery.
