Born Dec. 17, 1938 in Chardon, Ohio, he was the son of Fred and Allie (Karpinen) Post. Mr. Post had lived in the Ashtabula County area for the past 17 years. He served in the United States Army before being honorably discharged. He was a member of VFW Post 377 in Albion, Pa., Jefferson Eagles Club, and the Army Navy Club. Post, 65, of Beech Street, Jefferson, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Jefferson Medical Associates L.L.C. Born Dec. 17, 1938 in Chardon, Ohio, he was the son of Fred and Allie (Karpinen) Post. Mr. Post had lived in the Ashtabula County area for the past 17 years. He served in the United States Army before being honorably discharged. He was a member of VFW Post 377 in Albion, Pa., Jefferson Eagles Club, and the Army Navy Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He worked for Union Local 2274 out of Pittsburgh, Pa. as a heavy construction carpenter for 30 years before retiring on May 1, 1998. Survivors include two sons, Scott and Andrew, both of Conneautville, Pa.; two daughters, Shannon (Art Jr.) Austin and Michelle Post, both of Conneautville, Pa.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Geordie Hallam of Austinburg, and Jeffery Hallam of Jefferson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Rodgers-Post in 2003; son Aaron; and his parents. Service was held at 1 p.m. Monday at Ducro Funeral Services-Jefferson Home, 17 N. Market St., Jefferson, with Rev. Kenneth Roberts, Pastor of Pentecostal Church of God officiating. Burial followed at Oakdale Cemetery. Calling hours were held Monday from 12 noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to ABATE.
