Description	:	Fred Curtis Caley was born on June 14, 1878 at LaPorte City, Iowa. He was the son of the late William C. and Alice J. Caley. He moved with his parents to Creighton, Nebr. in October of 1883, where he spent his boyhood and early manhood. In 1909 he moved to Ekalaka, Montana and in 1920 journeyed to Los Angeles, California, where he made his home until the time of his death. He is survived by two brothers, Morell T. Caley of this city and Jesse R. Caley of Ordway, Colorado and one sister, Edith A. Caley of Creighton. He... Read More	Fred Curtis Caley was born on June 14, 1878 at LaPorte City, Iowa. He was the son of the late William C. and Alice J. Caley. He moved with his parents to Creighton, Nebr. in October of 1883, where he spent his boyhood and early manhood. In 1909 he moved to Ekalaka, Montana and in 1920 journeyed to Los Angeles, California, where he made his home until the time of his death. He is survived by two brothers, Morell T. Caley of this city and Jesse R. Caley of Ordway, Colorado and one sister, Edith A. Caley of Creighton. He was 58 years and 29 days old at the time of his death. Mr. Caley's death resulted from a heart attack and he passed on within thirty minutes after being stricken. Only the week previous he had recovered from an attack, which he suffered while strolling on the beach. The body arrived in Creighton last Monday evening, being accompanied here by M.T. Caley, his brother, who left for Los Angeles upon being advised of his death. Hengstler & Son, local morticians, went to Columbus to get the body. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hengstler & Son chapel, conducted by Rev. David C. Anderson, pastor of the federated church. Pallbearers were: W.A. Hufsmith, Chas. Saunders, P.L. Carroll, Will Bell, C.F. Bush and R.D. Crew. Flower bearers were Mrs. Jack Butler and Mrs. W.L. Hazen. Interment was made in Greenwood cemetery. Relatives from out of town attending the last rites were a brother, J.R. Caley of Ordway, Colo. and an aunt, Mrs. Lena Vammen of Aberdeen, Wash. Mrs. Vammen, a former Creighton resident, will be remembered by many of the early residents as Miss Lena Wilson and was a member of the second graduating class of the public school.
