Mailander, 52, a well known farmer and cattleman who had lived in the Holyoke community since his youth, passed away last Thursday morning at his home in Holyoke after an illness of five years. Fred Henry MAILANDER, a son of Henry and Agusta Ehrman MAILANDER, was born at Wiota, Iowa on April 7, 1902. He spent his boyhood in that community and moved with his parents to Holyoke in 1917. After completing his education at the Phillips County High School, he was engaged in farming southwest of Holyoke until 1949 when he moved to Holyoke. Mr. Mailander was united in marriage to Esther Coyne on October 5, 1927. To this union were born two daughters, Betty Frances and Helen Lou. Betty Frances preceded her father in death in 1936. Surviving Mr. Mailander are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Marvin James of southwest of Holyoke; his mother, Mrs. Agusta MAILANDER, who resides in Holyoke; one brother, Leo MAILANDER of this community; one sister, Mrs. Maurice DeVore, Wood River, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Patty, Peggy and Billy James, and many other relatives. Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral included the following: Mr. and Mrs. D. DeVore and Beverly, Wood River, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Ron McLey and daughter, Manhattan, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Joe MAILANDER, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Munforf and Mrs. Lena Thompson, Atlantic, Iowa; Harold MAILANDER, Mrs. Margaret MAILANDER, Miss Susan Ehrman, Milford MAILANDER and LeRoy Williamson, Wiota, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Paul MAILANDER and sons, Spaulding, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Maxfield and Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Moore, Denver; Mrs. Garrie Hayes, San Diego, California; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Considine and Mrs. Eva Scebold, Loveland, Colorado; Mrs. Nettie Blue and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Blue, Goodland, Kansas; and Mr. and Mrs. John Facknity and Mr. and Mrs. William Kindig and family, Hastings, Nebraska. CARD OF THANKS We wish to take this means of thanking our many friends for the floral offerings, masses, cards and other kindnesses during the illness and loss of our husband and father.
