Whitty, son of Henry and Sarah (Foster) Whitty, was born on August 10, 1886 near Diller, Nebraska and passed away at his home Thursday afternoon, March 17 1960 at the age of 73 years 7 months and 7 days. He grew to manhood in Nebraska and on March 17, 1909 was married to Ella Mae Carmichael. They came to Vliets, Kansas in 1913 and on February 14, 1918 a son Dean Edward Witty came to bless their home. Whitty, son of Henry and Sarah (Foster) Whitty, was born on August 10, 1886 near Diller, Nebraska and passed away at his home Thursday afternoon, March 17 1960 at the age of 73 years 7 months and 7 days. He grew to manhood in Nebraska and on March 17, 1909 was married to Ella Mae Carmichael. They came to Vliets, Kansas in 1913 and on February 14, 1918 a son Dean Edward Witty came to bless their home. His wife passed away on January 9, 1920. On November 28, 1923, he married Maude E. Connet. After twenty-two years of farming near Vliets, the family moved to Stockton, Missouri. In 1942, they moved to Nevada, Missouri, where he was engaged as a male nurse at the State Hospital. In 1948, they moved to Medical Lake, Washington, where he was engaged in hospital work of the same nature. Upon his retirement in 1956 they moved to Spokane, Washington and on November 1959, they returned to Frankfort, Kansas where he resided until his death. Surviving him are his wife, Maude; his son Dean, his sisters, Mrs. Viona Coleman and Mrs. Eva Green, a niece and one nephew. At the time of his death he was a member of the Frankfort Methodist Church. A memorial in his honor was contributed to the Church for Missions. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. March 22, 1960 in the Methodist Church at Frankfort Pallbearers were Alfred Sisk, Earl Owen, Oscar Carlson, Robert Warren, Guy Steckel, and Phil Schuyler. Burial was in the Vermillion Cemetery, Vermillion, Kansas.
