Description	:	OBIT: Fred P. Orndoff, 98, a 23-year resident of Leavenworth and a former resident of Thorp, died April 18, 2002, in a Bellevue Convalescent Center. He was born on January 29, 1904 to Porter and Lydia (Nuckolls) Orndoff of Thorp, where he grew up and received his education, graduating from Thorp High School in 1926. He was born on January 29, 1904 to Porter and Lydia (Nuckolls) Orndoff of Thorp, where he grew up and received his education, graduating from Thorp High School in 1926. On January 7, 1932, he married (Betty) Alice Bradshaw in Ellensburg and they made their home in Thorp. In 1940 they moved to Ellensburg where they made their home until moving to Leavenworth in 1979. Fred was employed by the Home Transfer Co., as a truck driver until his retirement. A Mason for 57 years, he was a member of the Zarthan Lodge No. 148, F&AM and the Leavenworth Community United Methodist Church at the time of his death. Fred is survived by his daughter, Linda (Tom) Carlson of Bellevue, grandchildren, Matthew, Andrea and Jessica Carlson all of Bellevue, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in 1999; his parents, three sisters and one brother. A memorial service of commemoration to celebrate the life of Fred Orndoff, will be conducted at 1 p.m., April 26 in the Ward's Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Tom Carlson, officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Thorp Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to the Leavenworth Senior Citizen Center, P. O. Box 1033, Leavenworth, WA 98826.
