Description	:	Fred Terry, 82, funeral will be held Tuesday with burial in Prospect Hill cemetery. He died early Saturday evening in a hospital in Norfolk. He had suffered a severe stroke Monday afternoon, July 30, while he was seated on a bench at Battle Creek visiting with his son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Phil Hughes. He was married on Feb. 5, 1893 to Miss Anna Brown, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Brown, pioneers of the Tilden community. He served a total of 24 years as Madison County commissioner. At the end of his last 4 year term he declined to be a candidate for reelection and retired from public office in January 1949. He was survived by 5 daughters: Mrs. Phil Hughes at Battle Creek, Mrs. O. F. Stelk at Bayard, Mrs. Dean Allen at Marysville, Kansas; Miss Clara Terry a teacher at Rawlings, Wyoming; Mrs. Jerry Allen at Creighton; 2 sons: Paul at Norfolk, Fritz at Meadow Grove; 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 sister Mrs. Rudy Collins at Boise, Idaho; 4 brothers: Dick at Grant's Pass, Oregon; Sherman, Ellsworth both at Boise, Idaho; Clyde at Meadow Grove. He was preceded in death by his wife on June 5, 1944; 1 daughter Mrs. T. A. Chappell at Houston, Texas who died in 1939; 1 son Earl who died when 4 years old, 2 sisters, 1 brother.
