He was born to Nels Stefhan and Rita Esther (Kelley) Vang on July 9, 1942, in Wolbach. Fred attended Wolbach Public Schools until graduation from high school. After high school he moved to Grand Island to attend Grand Island School of Business and later Central Community College to receive a construction technology degree. Read More	Grand Island Independent, August 26, 2014: OMAHA — Fred Vernon Vang, 72, of Omaha, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, in Omaha. He was born to Nels Stefhan and Rita Esther (Kelley) Vang on July 9, 1942, in Wolbach. Fred attended Wolbach Public Schools until graduation from high school. After high school he moved to Grand Island to attend Grand Island School of Business and later Central Community College to receive a construction technology degree. He was a Lincoln resident from 1997 until recently when he was moved to Omaha to be close to his sister. Fred is survived by his sisters, Nancy Ebel of Waterloo, Iowa, and Ruth Mercer of Omaha; and two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nels Stefhan and Rita Esther (Kelley) Vang and brothers, Dennis Alan Vang and Ronnie Ralph Vang. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place.
