Grummert, one of 10 children born to Chris Pollock and Louise Ritter Pollock, was born May 6, 1903, on a farm near Grand Island, Nebraska and passed away March 6, 1981, at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska, at the age of 77 years and 10 months. As an infant Freda was baptized in the Christian Faith, North of Grand Island, by Rev. Vurrows and confirmed her Christian Faith in 1917 again with Rev. Vurrows. At the time of her death she was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church where she had been a member since 1948. She attended country school North of Grand Island. 28 years of her life she lived at Cairo, Nebraska, and living 32 years in Superior. On June 20, 1920, Freda was united in marriage to William Nunnenkamp at Grand Island, Nebraska. To this union 8 children were born. William died in 1947. In 1948 Freda was married to John Grummert, of Superior, where she has lived since 1949. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, William Nunnenkamp, her son, Lloyd Nunnenkamp, a grandson, Gary Rauert, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, John Grummert; 5 sons, Hallis Nunnenkamp of Hillsboro, Oregon, Glen Nunnenkamp of Portland, Oregon, Wayne Nunnenkamp of Seattle, Washington, William Nunnenkamp of Lancaster, California and Roger Nunnenkamp of Hillsboro, Oregon; 2 daughters, Wanda, Mrs. Elmer Rauert of Grand Island, Nebraska, Eva Adams of Courtland, Kansas; 3 step sons, Eldrick Grummert of Superior, Milvern Grummert of Glenvil, Nebraska, Galen Grummert of Holdrege, Nebraska; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Nunnenkamp of Grand Island, Nebraska and Mrs. Minnie Rath of Ravenna, Nebraska, 1 brother, Ernest Pollock of Grand Island, Nebraska, 26 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and many friends. Services were held Monday March 9, 1981, at 11:00 a.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church near Superior with Pastor David Miller officiating. Pallbearers were Dale Seem, Michael Grummert, Terry Grummert, Craig Grummert, Orville Grummert, Harold Pollock. "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross" was sung by Alfred and Janell Hanson. "How Great Thou Art" was sung by the congregation with Virginia Drohman as the organist. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Cairo, Nebraska.
