She was married to Craig Pigman last year and the little daughter who was born last month survives her mother. Mrs. Pigman's father, Matts Johnson, her sister Hazed and brother Emil, came here from Morganville this morning too late to see her in life. The funeral will be held tomorrow. The sorrowing family has the sympathy of many friends. ********************************* The Tribune (Morganville, KS) 08 Aug 1912: Mrs. S.C. Pigman died at her home in Concordia last Monday and the body was brought here Tuesday evening for burial. Mrs. Pigman was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Johnson of this city. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at one o'clock at the M.E. Church conducted by Rev. L.B. Wiles and Rev. J.A. Jacobson. The remains were laid to rest in the Swedish Lutheran Cemetery. Freda Velma Johnson was born January 16, 1891, in Morganville and grew to womanhood in this vicinity. On January 7, 1907, under the pastorate of C.B. Zook, she made a profession of faith in Christ and united with the M.E. Church of this city. On November 14, 1911, she was joined in marriage to Mr. S.C. Pigman of Concordia, where they made their home until her death. On August 12, 1912, a messenger came to call Freda away. She was conscious to the last and said to her husband, "I know I am going to die; I would like to live, but it is God's way and I will not complain." Besides her father and mother, brothers and sisters, and many other relatives and friends, she leaves a husband and a small babe eight weeks old. Contributor: KsDocent (47300995)
