Orme, was born September 17, 1912 in Harden Township, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. He died July 28, 1971, at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 11 days. Following his father's death when Fred was 4 years old, the family remained on the farm until May 1919 and then moved to Lamoni. He was baptized a member of the R.L.D.S. Campbell The Lamoni Chronicle, Lamoni, IA, Thurs, 8/5/1971, pg10 Frederick Alma Campbell, fourth child of Joseph N. Campbell and Melissa L. Orme, was born September 17, 1912 in Harden Township, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. He died July 28, 1971, at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 11 days. Following his father's death when Fred was 4 years old, the family remained on the farm until May 1919 and then moved to Lamoni. He was baptized a member of the R.L.D.S. Church September, 1920, by Brother J.A. Gunsolley. He served the Lamoni congregation as Head Deacon, following his ordination to that office in 1935. He was also a bishop's agent and a member of the building committee. He graduated from the Lamoni Public Schools, attended Grand Island Business College and Graceland College. January 24, 1941, he was married to Donna Gayle Lewis and to this union two children were born; Steven Lewis and Lois Marie. He was employed at the Lamoni Cooperative Creamery Association and substituted as a clerk in the Lamoni Post Office, beginning July 1937. In 1945 he received appointment as regular clerk at the post office. He served as acting postmaster for one year. He also served the community as secretary of the Lamoni school board one year. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; sister, Esther Grim and her son, Kenneth. Surviving are his widow, Donna; son, Steven and his wife, Debbie; daughter, Lois; sister, Edna Cole; a special member of the family, Carol Thomas Hice; and other relatives and friends. Services were held August 1 from the Lamoni R.L.D.S. Church with Elders Robert Hynden and Leslie Kohlman officiating and the Stewart Funeral Home in charge. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery, Lamoni.
