Jan 14, 1931 - Carroll Daily - F.A. Pielsticker of Eldora, KS, a former Carroll man and the father of Miss Louise Pielsticker, died yesterday in the Dr Weger sanitarium at Redlands, Calif. He was taken there two weeks ago yesterday for treatment and was accompanied to that place by his wife. Death was the result of a paralytic stroke. The body will arrive in Eldorado, KA, Friday where funeral services will be held Monday morning. The place of burial has not been determined and it is possible that it will take place here. Fred A Pielsticker was born about 2 miles north of Maple River March 27, 1876 and was educated in the district schools of Carroll county. After finishing school, he entered Iowa State college at Ames and took a course in the electrical engineering department from which he later graduated. Leaving Carroll Mr Pielsticker went to Eldorado, KS. and in company with the late William A Arts, Sr. purchased the electric light and artificial ice plant, which he conducted until the oil fields in that region began to develop, when he sold the plant and turned his attention to oil in which he was remarkably successful. Twelve years ago he became associated with the Skelly Oil company and at the time of his death was first vice president of the company and manager of the refining division. F.A. Pielsticker was married to MIss Louise Arts, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs W.A. Arts, Sr. in Carroll Sept 12, 1900. to this union were born two sons and a daughter: William and Robert borh students in Georgetown University at Washington, D.C., and Miss Louise Pielsticker, who had made her home with her uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs J.C. Heider since the death of the mother, which occurred Dec 28 1915. Eleven years ago Mr Pielsticker was married to Miss Ida Brennen of Butler, PA and since their marriage they have lived in Eldorado. Besides his widow and three children, he is survived by a sister, Miss Anna Pielsticker of North Platte, Neb; and three brothers John Pielsticker of Wallace, Neb.; Joe Pielsticker of Paxton, Neb; and Frank Pielsticker of North Platte, Neb. Another sister, Mrs Joseph Seiler died in denver, Colo, Feb 19, 1928 and is buried at Mount Carmel. "Fred" Pielsticker, as he was familiarly called was well known to Carroll people having been and raised in the Mount Carmel community where the home place is located. Much of his early youth and young manhood were spent in the home of the late Mrs Seiler, who stood in the place of a mother to the children, as their father died when they were quite young. He was a self-made man, worked his way through school and later college and by dint of industry coupled with his honest upright character rose to a position of trust in the financial and business world. Mr Pielsticker was taken ill in September when he was afflicted with high blood pressure and shortly after had a paralytic stroke. He rallied and was able to be removed to Rochester, Minn. for examination and then returned to Eldorado. It was thought he would respond to treatment in the sanitorium in California and two weeks ago he arrived there with his wife. Reports that he was getting along nicely and was a trifle better were received by relatives and it was a shock when the message arrived stating that he had suffered another stroke. This was followed with the announcement of his death yesterday afternoon. The news quickly spread and the many friends of this young man, who was just in the prime of life, are sorely grieved at his death. Jan 19, 1931 - Carroll Daily - Short funeral rites for F.A. Pielsticker of Eldora, Kan., will be held tomorrow morning. In Ss Peter and Paul's cemetery. They will be conducted by the Rev. Father Joseph Cordes of St. Lawrence church. Services were held this morning at Eldorado and the body and relatives will arrive in Carroll tomorrow morning over the Chicago Great Western railroad at 10:10. They will procede at once to the cemetery where burial will be in the Arts lot. The pall bearers who have been selected, are: J.J. Meyers, L.J. Wegman, W.K. Sturges, E.A. Wissler, Dr. F.H. Hillemeyer and M.A. Hoyt, Jr. Mr. Pielsticker, who was formerly a resident of Carroll, died last Tuesday at Redlands, Calif. in the Dr Wigers sanitariam where he was taken for treatment for a stroke of paralysis.
