Stehr, 68, a longtime Badger Mountain resident, slipped peacefully into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior at his home surrounded by loving family on Saturday, December 8, 2018, following a brief illness. He was born on July 13, 1950, in Wenatchee, WA, to the late Frederick August and Rose Marie (Bolton) Stehr. He was raised on a cattle, wheat and hay ranch, at the base of Stemilt Hill, above Malaga. He attended his first eight grades at Malaga Elementary School, prior to attending Pioneer Junior High and Wenatchee High School, graduating in 1968. He continued his education at Wenatchee Valley College. He met and was later married to Verina Morgan and two children, Shiela and Braedon, were born to this union. He went to work at Cascade Chevrolet, as a body and fender repairman. In 1980, he went to work for Chelan County Public Works Department as manager of the Chelan County Motor Pool. He retired from that position in August of 2013, after 33 ½ years of employment in that department. Fred met and was later married to Mary Healy on January 28, 2017, in Wenatchee, WA. They continued to make their home together on Badger Mountain. Fred was a dedicated 4-H and FFA dad, beef barn leader and also raised cattle, including his prized Salers. He enjoyed hunting with his son, fishing with his grandchildren and attending their basketball, baseball and soccer games. In his earlier years he enjoyed stock car racing. He is survived by his wife, Mary Stehr, of Badger Mountain, WA; children: Shiela Lynn Stehr-Erb, of East Wenatchee, WA, and Frederick “Braedon” (Jodi) Stehr, of Maryville, TN; step-children: Matthew (Darcy) Carpenter, of Wenatchee, WA, Benjamin (Julie) Carpenter, of Monterey, CA, Michelle (Caleb) Kossian, of Yakima, WA; sister, Linda Marie Farnsworth, of Chelan, WA; grandchildren: Colby Erb, Garrett Erb and Justin Erb, all of East Wenatchee, WA, Kylee Stehr, Lily Stehr and Ellie Stehr, of Maryville, TN, Sadie, Elizabeth, Timothy and Jackson Carpenter, of Wenatchee, WA, Grace and John Carpenter, of Monterey, CA and Asher Kossian, of Yakima, WA, nephew: Brad Ulrich, of Plain WA, niece: Tanya (Jason) Stroscheim and great niece Alysha Stroscheim, of Wenatchee WA and nieces Tiffany Nash, of White GA and Renee Harlow, of Olympia WA. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018, at the First Assembly of God Church, 1520 McKittrick Street, Wenatchee, WA. The interment will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 1301 10th St. NE, East Wenatchee.
