Description	:	JENKINS, FRED - Relatives at Luray were informed on Thursday morning of the passing of Fred Jenkins at his home at Oakton, Virginia on the previous night (in Feb 1937). Mr. Jenkins, a native of this county & a s/o the late William H. Jenkins has been a resident of Washington & vicinity for the past quarter of a century he having held a responsible position at the Raleigh Hotel in Washington for that length of time. Read More	JENKINS, FRED - Relatives at Luray were informed on Thursday morning of the passing of Fred Jenkins at his home at Oakton, Virginia on the previous night (in Feb 1937). Mr. Jenkins, a native of this county & a s/o the late William H. Jenkins has been a resident of Washington & vicinity for the past quarter of a century he having held a responsible position at the Raleigh Hotel in Washington for that length of time. He owned a comfortable home at Oakton where he also engaged in the Poultry business. Few years ago he underwent an operation for gallstones and one of the largest stones ever recorded was removed from his body. He apparently recovered after this operation and resumed his duties at the Raleigh Hotel where he was a general favorite. Last summer, Mr. Jenkins began declining & underwent a major operation from which he never fully recovered although he attempted to resume his hotel duties, but could not withstand the strain. He retired to his home in Oakton where he assisted in nursing his father the late W. H. Jenkins who died about 8 weeks ago. Mr. Jenkins Sr., a native of this county was brought to Page for burial. His body was accompanied here by his son now deceased who had apparently recovered. The subject of this notice married Miss Martha Wilcox of Oakton about 15 years ago. They leave no children. His body will be brought to this county for burial which will be held from Mt. Zion Brethren Church of which he was a member, on Sunday. (PNC)
