Ulmer, son of Fred Ulmer and wife Katherine nee Deutscher, was born at Rohrbach, South Russia, September 26 1884. As a child he came to this country with his parents who settled near Sutton. He was baptized and confirmed in the christian faith at the First Reformed Church, May 1899. Ulmer, son of Fred Ulmer and wife Katherine nee Deutscher, was born at Rohrbach, South Russia, September 26 1884. As a child he came to this country with his parents who settled near Sutton. He was baptized and confirmed in the christian faith at the First Reformed Church, May 1899. Most of his youth he spent in this vicinity where he was united in marriage to Miss Magadalene Trautman in year 1907. To this union were born two daughters. In the year 1932 he left for Omaha where he was employed in the trucking business. In the year 1937 he left for Chicago Ill., where he was married to Agnes Valentine the 28th of March. He was employed as foreman of the A. Feiger Roofing Company of Chicago when death summoned him. He attained the age of 57 years 9 months and 5 days. When at 3:45 p.m. July 1st he passed on following a heart attack. He leaves to mourn his passing his sorrowing widow, two children Mrs. William Bengston and Mrs. Andrew Bengston and three grandchildren: Donald, Virginia and Nancy Griess (the last name has been crossed out in the obit), all of Clinton, Iowa. Four sisters: Mrs. Katherine Kniss of Sutton, Mrs. Henry Griess of Lushton, Mrs. Gottlieb Issler of Fairmont, Mrs. John Smith of Harvard. Three brothers, Jacob Ulmer of Bradshaw, John Ulmer of Sutton and Herman Ulmer of Grafton. His parents and two daughters (NOTE: daughters marked out and sisters was written beside it) preceded him in death. He also leaves countless numbers of friends here and elsewhere who are touched by his sudden death. Funeral services were under the direction of Kohler-Grosshans and were held at the German Congregational church (sic) on Sunday, July 5th, at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. John R. Becker officiating. Interment was made at the Sutton cemetery (sic). The Sutton Register (Sutton, NE), Thursday, July 9, 1942
